Meet the Animals

As important as Michael, Patricia, the family, and our team of volunteers are to Small Wonders Farm, the animals are the stars. There’s quite a variety of critters on these 5 acres
FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. Can I stay or do I have to drop-off?

This is your child. If you would like to stay, you may certainly stay. You can watch from a distance, set up an outdoor office, or participate in the fun. It’s your call!

  • 2. My child is on the spectrum, are they able to come to the farm?

Yes! We have six kids ourselves, and three of them are neuro divergent. We understand how this works. We have limitations because we don’t have the staff to attend to every set of needs, but we have enjoyed having all kinds of kids with all kinds of challenges from non-verbal, to sensory disfunction, to hyperactivity, to emotional intensity. If your child has needs that require more attention than our staff and volunteers can provide, we would simply ask that you arrange for them to have “a person” on site during camp.

  • 3. Why are deposits “non-refundable?

When you reserve a date, we can’t schedule anything else on that day. We require a deposit as a form of security. If a party backs out, we aren’t just losing out on that income, but any income we may have made had the date been open.

  • 4. What should I bring to camp?

Pack a lunch, a water bottle, bring a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, any medications they may need for maintenance or emergency, a list of any allergies, and a sense of adventure.

  • 5. What if my child can’t/doesn’t want to participate in a certain activity?

Sometimes we process chickens during farm camp. It’s a great experience, but some kids want nothing to do with it. Two days a week, we swim, but not every kid can. We don’t force kids to do anything. We offer alternative activities if a child wants to pass. We do make them scoop poop for potty mouth though. That’s non-negotiable.
