About Us

What is Small Wonders Farm?

Small Wonders Farm is a 5-acre farm full of “small wonders”: miniature horses, miniature donkey, ponies, miniature pigs, miniature goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, ducks, quail, and a desert tortoise.

We believe that a strong community creates a positive impact in the world around us. To help foster healthy and effective community, we provide families an opportunity to work, play, learn, and grow together. As an educational and recreational farm, we host day-camps, social gatherings (e.g. birthday parties, baby showers), homeschool enrichment programs, and farm visits. We also bring this show on the road to farmers markets, parties, schools, hospitals, country clubs, and more.

Strong, healthy families are the foundation of strong, healthy community. If you are looking for an affordable venue for your wedding in a rustic setting with a down-home family vibe, we can help there too. We have a variety of facilities to accommodate your ceremony and reception along with resources for decoration, services to help coordinate, and an on-site ordained officiant.

At Small Wonders Farm, we cherish the beauty of simplicity and the joy of community. Our doors are always open to welcome you, whether you seek a day of fun, an educational adventure, or a memorable celebration. Come and discover the magic of our miniature world, where every small wonder brings a big smile. Join us in creating lasting memories and nurturing a strong, vibrant community. We look forward to sharing the warmth and charm of our farm with you.

Support the Vision

We are not a non-profit organization, but we do value charity. We keep our prices low so we can offer our services to families who may not typically be able to afford these activities for their kids. We are a registered foster-friendly business, we work with many non-profits free of charge, and we try to be a blessing to local families on a case-by-case basis by offering discounts or scholarships. If you would like to partner with us and create opportunities for underprivileged families and disadvantaged children to experience our camps and activities—to help us build strong community—you can make a donation to go toward scholarships, empowering kids to attend our camps or farm school. If you require a tax receipt, you can give through A Jesus Mission website at https://www.ajesusmission.org/missionaries/haywardfamily.

Meet The Owners

Michael Hayward

Michael enlisted in the United States Marine Corps out of high school and served six years in the Marine Reserve. He worked 21 years in a clinical medical lab as a histology technician and served 18+ years as the lead Pastor of their small Southern Baptist Church in California. Now Michael works to put legs on Patricia’s vision for Small Wonders Farm by building and repairing farm facilities, creating logos and fliers, and by letting every little critter Patricia must have on the farm.

Patricia Hayward

Patricia has overseen preschools, been the director of their church’s children’s ministry, Directed Vacation Bible School, and started at least 6 different home-based businesses. Now she turns her energy, love for kids, and need for all things furry into the experience that is Small Wonders Farm. Patricia is the visionary and driving force behind the business. If you’ve talked to someone on the phone… it was her.
